Florian: Thumbnail Drawing

Update: I love playing around with drawings - in this case I added a sort of living vehicle. In the next post I will discuss the clean-up and colouring process of this piece... see you then! Btw, I declare this very critter to be my official "art center character". I will use this character for all of my future "art center shows" in various ways...

Amazing. Do you blow up the thumbnail and lightboard a new drawing on top?

Florian how do you decide what kind of lines you put down.. i was watching some of your work in progress videos and was amazed to see the variety of marks you put down.. like sometimes you'll have nice flowy lines and sometimes.. you'll have something more scribbly.. while others its just a simple straight.. maybe there's no method to it? Was just asking just in case there was.

Per :) Thanks!! You're welcome...

Brian, I think my rough sketches are more "molded" than they are drawn. I guess that I switch between thinking lines and thinking form while I'm drawing... cheers!

I've only recently started using this process again, and I don't know why I ever went away from it. For some reason my thumbnails often have way more energy than my final drawings, so why not just trace over them instead?
Thanks for the post!
